As a Catholic Forum, there must be a few rules of the game. Firstly, as this Forum holds to the position of Archbishop Lefebvre as a model in this present crisis of the Church, it is understood that it cannot be tolerated that his person be the subject of scorn or be attacked. This does not preclude, however, the possiblity of disagreement in such and such a point of his prudential decisions, as long as it does not involve character assasination.
Secondly, this Forum holds that Pope Benedict XVI is the Pope of Rome. This demands at least a certain respect for his Office and person, despite whatever errors might be held by him. While it is theoretically possible that a future pope might declare these Conciliar popes to have forfeited the Throne of Peter, this is not the province of all and sundry to decide. While it is possible to hold the sedevacantist position and still take part in this Forum, it is not possible to make of the Forum an opportunity to war upon the legitimacy of Pope Benedict XVI.
In essentials, it is presumed that Catholics will hold to the teachings of the Church, though the understanding of these positions may be arrived at by questions on this Forum. In matters in which the Church has not yet decided, there must be a spirit of charity among those who disagree with one another.
This Forum is not the place for slander or other sins of the tongue.
